The Big Shift!
My creativity blossoms every year, and this year in particular is the most exhilarating. It's my SENIOR YEAR and I am very happy that I made it this far. All of the obstacles that I went through were tough but I found a way of release through art. So far, this year is going by great. I look forward to going to my art class everyday because it is were I find peace. I also like how as the days go by, my artistic ability is increasing dramatically! I can literally begin to see the realistic aspects that are in MY art work. I look forward to another great year with my art class! Most importantly, I look forward to progressing my art after highschool!
PoRtRaiTS!!!
I absolutely adore drawing, it is my way of releasing everything that hurts me, make me laugh, makes me cry and so on. When my assignment was to draw a self portrait i was extremely excited. Especially because we are drawing it on HUGE paper! Like always, art is never boring; we are not jus drawing self portraits but we are painting them in ONE COLOR. The best part of it all is that we are inking our paintings when we are finished to give our portraits a more interesting look. Last year we drew a bouquet of flowers and we painted and inked them, so I have some experience but with our self-portraits there is shading. Never did I imagine shading with colored pencil, let alone shading with paint. Will I be able to do this?! Yes!!! At first I was afraid that my painting would not be as good as the legit drawing of my face, and I was afraid that I was going to mess it up once I picked up the paintbrush. With each stroke I am getting better, and everything is coming together nicely.
My fruit drawings
I have been taking art classes all throughout elementary and middle school, but when i got to high school everything changed and new doors opened. "new doors" such as making drawings into reality, ordinary colors into extriodinary blends, and also simple expression throughout abstract. At first i was not quiet sure about the shading with colored pencil process, especially the fruit. I have grasped the black and white shading but never did i imagine shading in color! i was hesitant at first but once i put my nervousness to the side i began to recognize the concept of taking the "real life" colors of any object and mimicing them onto a drawing and/or sheet of paper to bring out the realistic aspects of the drawings.
