SliDe ShoW

senior post

Well how can I start this... FROM FRESHMAN YEAR OF COURSE! Before freshman year I was extremely nervous about how stressful all of my classes would be. As I walked through those doors, I knew that my life in high school was just beginning. Whenever I was in class it was stressful and I knew that it had to be at least two classes that would be a (somewhat) sanctuary. I didn't take art until my sophmore year, and I wish i did. Especially because I would've been a more calm person than the person I was. Art for me is a way of expression without words, and Mrs. Kiick showed me that immediately. I'm very pleased with all of the artwork that I did because I didn't think I would be able to do it but I did.

C E R A M I C S **

FINALLY! IV'E BEEN WAITING TO EXPERIMENT WITH CLAY ALL YEAR AND THE TIME HAS COME. ! YAYY : ) I love getting my hands dirty and this is the ideal art for me! I was first introduced to clay when I was a sophmore and I loved it. This year we are dedicating a set to someone of great importance to us. Somewhat like "bringing someone to the table", I am dedicating this to my brother :)

Finished Metal

I've been working with metal for 3 years with my art class and every year it seems as if my artistic ability has expanded. Now that i understand how to manipulate the metal and bend it any kind of I can now do more things with my pieces. This year I based my metal work on an Egyptian eye. The outcome came out perfect. Exactly the way I seen it, and I am happy that I can bring my ideas to life.

The Life of Khaelyss Frazier (art on display)

My collage is an experience, as well as an artistic expression. Each layer tells a different part of my life, leading to the final layer. The seran wrap represents the somewhat "force-field" that I used to put up so that no one can judge me, or even try to walk a day in my shoes (in this case look through each layer of my life). Now that I have matured, I realized that a person cannot continue to hold everything in. Therefore the hand represents me pushing at the force-field, in order to open up and live life to the fullest.

SELF PORTRAIT :: ALL FINISHED :)

do you see the resemblance?
